The Oasi di Cervara (Oasis of Cervara), also known as Isola di Santa Cristina (Island of Santa Cristina), is a marshy area inside River Sile Park. Its fauna is of considerable interest: many animal species (hares, otters, foxes, weasels and skunks) and several birds (including herons, egrets, kingfishers, swans, river nightingales and water rails) live in black poplars, white willow trees and brambles in the woods, in underwater plants and reeds. The oasis is also of historical interest: you can visit the old mill, which has been restored into working order, and the reconstruction of a ‘casone’, a ‘peschiera’ and a ‘cavana’ (traditional boat shelters for boats that sailed on the river Sile).
