Chiesa di San Marco Evangelista

Chiesa

The Church of San Marco, built in the second half of the XV century and successively expanded, is located on ground that previously held another building of worship (cited in a document from 1152). The delicate facade is free of almost any openings, except for small windows in the lateral naves, and is decorated by four pilasters on plinths and closed off by a gable. Once crossed the gate, the visitor will find himself in a small area with three naves that welcomes prayers and at the same time encourages the discovery of its works of art. Particularly, a visitor will find the Crucifix from the 1700s in the main alter and the frescoes from the early 1500s on the sides of the arch that separates the hall to the presbytery, depicting the Nativity scene and Christ resurrected.
